

ABOUT ME
Amy is a 52-year-old wife and mother of three boys (teenage twins and a special needs 14-year-old). In 1997, Amy suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury when she fell out of a 3rd story window. Amy now competes in marathons and triathlons to help inspire others living with a disability, including our wounded warriors with TBI/PTSD. As a mentor and advocate, Amy has helped many of our veterans by volunteering her time at the Integrated Brain Health & Wellness Center at the VA in Martinez, CA. As President of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Achilles International, Amy helps individuals with disabilities participate in mainstream running events. Amy serves as the Traumatic Brain Injury Liason for the non-profit, Whole Brain Health Initiative. Amy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Media from Rutgers University in addition to a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist certificate from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. As a plant-based, vegan, Amy is passionate about healthy eating and sharing her knowledge with other people. In addition to endurance sports, Amy enjoys Yoga, Pilates, and strength training. Amy currently resides in Moraga, CA with her husband, sons, two rescued dogs and a rescued bunny rabbit.
